Privacy Policy

VibeMetrics ("we", "us", "our") provides automated social media reporting for freelancers and agencies who manage Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts on behalf of their clients. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's handled.

1. Information we collect

Account information: the name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text) you provide when you sign up for VibeMetrics.
Connected account data (via Meta): when you connect a Facebook Page or Instagram account through Facebook Login, Meta issues us an access token — never your Facebook password — that lets us read that account's public performance metrics: followers, reach, and engagement.
Billing information: handled entirely by our payment processor, Paystack. We never see or store your card details — only the subscription status Paystack reports back to us.

2. How we use this information

To generate the automated client reports that are the core of the service.
To maintain your VibeMetrics account and keep you logged in securely.
To manage billing and your subscription status.
To notify you of important account or service issues (e.g. a connected account needing to be reconnected).

We do not sell, rent, or share your data — or your clients' metrics — with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. How long we keep data

Raw metrics (the numbers pulled from Meta) are automatically and permanently deleted 18 months after collection.
Finished reports (the summaries generated from that data) are kept indefinitely by default, as they double as a record of your clients' growth history — similar to an invoice or business record.
You can request full erasure of your account and all associated data at any time — see Section 6 below.

4. How we protect your data

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS everywhere).
Sensitive fields — including Meta access tokens — are encrypted at rest.
Passwords are never stored in plain text.
Access to your data is restricted so that only your own account can retrieve it.

5. Facebook and Instagram data specifically

VibeMetrics uses Meta's Graph API solely to read Page/Instagram performance metrics (followers, reach, engagement) for accounts you explicitly connect and are authorized to manage. We never post on your behalf, never access private messages, and never access anything beyond the metrics needed to build your reports. You can revoke VibeMetrics' access at any time from your Facebook settings under Business Integrations, or by contacting us directly.

6. Your rights (POPIA)

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, including full account and data erasure, email us at info@vibemetrics.co.za and we will act on your request within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Children's privacy

VibeMetrics is a business tool intended for freelancers and agencies. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
